 ISO 20121 and GRI EOSS:  Real Life Application of International Standards of Sustainability in Events at London 2012

This webinar will focus on the launch of ISO 20121 this summer and the key learnings we have already experienced within the events industry. You’ll also hear background to the development of ISO 20121 and GRI EOSS and their relevance for the events industry. Examples of sustainability successes experienced by Positive Impact as spectators of London 2012 will also be detailed and provide key learnings and an interesting view of sustainability in action at the Olympics. Positive Impact are a non-profit organization that provide education and collaboration opportunities to catalyse a sustainable events industry. This session will be useful for event professionals of all levels of sustainability, and all those interested in international Standards and their practical application.

- Hear ideas on what you can start doing today

- Articulate what ISO 20121 and GRI EOSS are and their application for the meetings and events industry

Guest Presenter: Eloise Sochanik, Positive Impact

Eloise Sochanik is Project Manager at Positive Impact, a not for profit providing education to support a movement for sustainability in the events industry. Current client projects include supporting Event Scotland with their 2013: Year of Natural Scotland programme, and delivering a bespoke online education system for the exhibitions association, UFI. Eloise has a background in environmental sustainability as Client Services Director for The CarbonNeutral Company, delivering offset-led carbon management solutions for a range of corporate clients. Eloise delivers education and training, both online and face to face at events and workshops, offering guidance around the theoretical applications of sustainability, as well as explaining practical steps to achieve change, furthering our vision of an event sector inspired to have a positive impact.
